As we mark May Day — International Workers' and Labourers' Day — we renew our commitment as cultural workers to continue our struggle.
LONG LIVE MAY DAY
Dear Culture Workers,
Today is a day on which we celebrate the struggle waged for the rights of workers and labourers: May Day, the Day of Labour! On this meaningful day, as the Culture Workers' Union, we feel the joy of coming together and celebrating side by side.
As culture workers, we always feel the power of art and culture. Each of us, in our own field, sheds light on society through our labour and our creative power. But that light grows dim without a fair working environment and the protection of our rights. That is why we see May Day not only as a celebration but also as a day of struggle.
Today we stand together as a generation that carries the legacy of past struggles and looks to the future with hope. We will not give up the fight for workers' rights, and we will never step back from solidarity. Because we know that as long as we struggle together, we can protect what we have won and achieve more.
On this special day, we wish for everyone who earns their living by their labour to receive the value they deserve and to work in a fair environment. As culture workers, always remembering the role of art and culture in social transformation, we will continue our struggle for a fairer world.
