Kültür Emek-Sen (Culture Workers' Union) is the data controller within the scope of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK No. 6698) for personal data collected through this website.
What Data Do We Collect?
When you visit our website, only data required for technical operation (server access logs, IP address, browser type) is temporarily retained. When you submit the Ask a Question form, your name, email address, and question are collected for processing. For membership applications, identity and contact information is processed within the framework of legal obligations.
How Do We Use Your Data?
The personal data we collect is used solely to respond to your requests, manage membership processes, and fulfil our legal obligations. Your data is not shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
Cookies
Our site uses strictly necessary cookies for basic functions such as session management and language preference. When you verify your access to the training exams and progress record, a first-party cookie dedicated to that function and valid for 6 months is placed in your browser. No third-party cookies for analytics or marketing purposes are used.
Your Rights
Under Article 11 of KVKK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. You may exercise these rights using the contact details on our contact page.
Access to Training Content
The lesson texts and question banks of the training modules are open to everyone; no verification is needed to read them. To take the scored module exams, save your progress and receive a completion certificate, you are asked to verify your e-mail address. The address is stored solely to provide that access and progress record; if you tick the consent box, it is also used to send news and newsletters based on your explicit consent. If you did not tick the box, no promotional messages are ever sent to your address. For verified users, learning progress (completed modules, exam results, preferred field of work) is associated with your record to personalise the content experience. Unverified records are automatically deleted within 7 days at the latest. You can request deletion of your record via our contact page; the request is fulfilled within 30 days at the latest.

ID Card Application
The ID card application collects additional information, including your Turkish national ID number and passport photo (special category personal data under Article 6 of the Turkish Data Protection Law). This data is processed for purposes including producing an ID card, developing services and union policies for members, planning union activities, providing you with information and communication (SMS, email, newsletter), and conducting statistical studies; it is shared, only to the extent these purposes require, with third-party service providers such as the external card printing company (under a separate data processing agreement) and with affiliated umbrella organizations — it is never used for any commercial purpose or sold. Your photo and national ID number are deleted from our temporary database once the card production process is complete (once transferred to the card company); your permanent membership record is kept in our Google Workspace infrastructure for the duration of your membership. Your explicit consent to this processing is given by confirming the disclosure text sent to you at the email verification step and continuing with the application.
