Dear friends, it is with great excitement and joy that we present this guide to you. As the Culture Workers' Union, with our belief in the power of art and the importance of artists, we work to protect and support artists' rights. For us, art is not merely a profession; it is a passion. But we do not ignore the difficulties encountered in pursuing that passion. We know that our artists are often forced to fight to protect their rights. That is why this guide brings together a substantial part of the legislation for our artists and technical staff working, on permanent or contracted terms, at the State Opera and Ballet Directorate General, the State Theatres Directorate General and the General Directorate of Fine Arts. Our aim is to do all we can so that the rights the law grants artists are better understood and applied. This guide was prepared for you, and it is also available for you on our website. We are here so that you can know your rights, protect them and move forward more strongly. You are the artists — the light of society, the reflection of its soul and the bearers of its culture. Without you, the world would be paler. It is therefore our duty to protect, develop and support our rights. We thank everyone who contributed to the preparation of this guide.
