The 2026–2027 Art Season in Our Orchestras

We have published a statement following the board of directors elections held at the State Symphony Orchestras.
THE 2026–2027 ART SEASON IN OUR ORCHESTRAS
To all our esteemed artist members serving in the State Symphony Orchestras,
Law No. 6940 and its related regulations have enshrined a principle of utmost importance for the artistic autonomy of the State Symphony Orchestras: they grant artists the right to hold authority in the governance of their institutions and vest the power to determine administrators in the will of the "General Assembly."
In accordance with this legal framework, the Board of Directors elections held across our six orchestras in recent days have determined the principal and alternate members who will serve during the 2026–2027 art season.
First and foremost, we thank our esteemed artists who have, to this day, fulfilled these duties with great dedication — deprived of the financial rights stipulated in the aforementioned law and in comparable arts institutions. Our union has filed a lawsuit and continues its legal struggle to secure these rights.
We sincerely congratulate all artists elected to "Board of Directors" membership in the new term. We trust that they will protect and develop the artistic standards and autonomy of the State Symphony Orchestras, their institutional cultural heritage, and the personal rights of artists, and we wish them every success in their duties.
As the Kültür Emekçileri Sendikası (Cultural Workers' Union), we believe that preserving the autonomous structure of arts institutions and sustaining the democratic will of artists is of great importance. Our union will continue, as it always has, to stand by our members and to provide the necessary legal and institutional support in any situation they may face.
We believe that we will work together to build a future for our arts institutions that is strong, free, and grounded in solidarity.
Respectfully,
Kültür Emekçileri Sendikası Board of Directors
