We Are Stopping Work

On Monday 13 January, we are stopping work, wielding the power that comes from production. If our demands are not met by 15 January, we will escalate our struggle further.

WE ARE STOPPING WORK

As cultural workers, we pour our sweat and our hearts into the stages, workshops, halls, and every sphere of production in this country. Yet our labour is treated as worthless, and our dignity is condemned to poverty wages and precarious employment. We will be silent no longer.

We are here because:

The annual inflation figure of 44.38% announced by TÜİK is nothing but a deception that turns a blind eye to the blaze in the marketplace and in the kitchen.

Our wages are melting away in the face of inflation. The 11.54% pay rise imposed by the government is the sealed certificate of destitution and poverty.

In taxation, not justice but injustice prevails. With arrangements that lead to losses of up to 55% in our pension payments, our future is being darkened.

We reject the collective bargaining theatre that sits down at the table with bogus unions and strips us of our right to strike! We demand genuine collective bargaining with the right to strike.

What do we want?

Wages on which we can live with dignity and humanity!

A fair pay rise based on scientific data and grounded in real inflation rates!

The reflection of all supplementary and ancillary payments in our pension payments!

The achievement of tax justice and the abolition of the bogus union laws!

On Monday 13 January, we are stopping work, wielding the power that comes from production!

This is a warning. If our demands are not met by 15 January, we will escalate our struggle further.

As cultural workers we say: Justice, rights, and dignity are ours — and they will be won through struggle!
